classroom rock & friend called five...

ever wanted a private music lesson from someone that knows their craft inside and out? well a number of youngsters are getting the opportunity to do just that and actually get their regular studies in at the same time... a yukon singer/songwriter has been taking his talents to the classrooms along the north klondike highway... during each visit, steve slade works with a range of youngsters to write something catchy, yet educational in many ways... now slade is taking the fun to the recording studio as well... slade joins homegrown live in the studio to talk about the project and share a few demo recordings of what him and the kids have been up to...

after recording some tracks back in the summer of '07, friend called five is gearing up to release an EP of their hard, unique musical offerings... although they've had a few line-up changes, kyle cashen says their current collection is set and ready to possibly tour once the warmer weather hits... instead of leaving an environmental imprint by releasing tangible discs, the guys are making their tunes available for download off their website... cashen joins homegrown live to chat about the EP and the band's undefinable sound...
