with a definite chill in the air these months, the whitehorse folk society is providing yukoners with somewhere warm to go for a saturday evening... every first saturday of the month brings another edition of their coffeehouse nights at the united church in the downtown capital... paul davis is one of about a dozen volunteers that make the coffeehouse performances possible... davis tells homegrown what kind of talent you can find there, along with how much it costs to join in the fun...
yukon recording artist kim beggs is home for the holidays after travelling to ontario, saskatchewan and the u.s. to attend and showcase her folk style at a number of conferences... she's up for a western canadian music award for best roots album; she also garnered a nomination at the canadian folk music awards for best new artist... it's been a good year for the singer-songwriter, and now she's prepping to head to memphis in the new year with a small crew of yukon talent... beggs joins homegrown live in the studio to sing a track from her second album and share some of her recent experiences...
plus, throughout the show we'll listen to some of the best in canadian music for 2007 as decided upon by the many, many musical critics out there...
